Explore support for replacing an oil boiler, upgrading your heating, adding solar panels, choosing air conditioning or insulating your walls. Terra can help you understand the options and prepare a quotation for your home.
The Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS) supports qualifying low-carbon heating in England and Wales. It is not a general £7,500 voucher for solar panels, insulation or a cooling-only AC unit. Those improvements need their own funding route or form part of a separate Terra offer.
OIL BOILER OWNERS
Move beyond oil heating.
Up to £9,000 towards an eligible heat pump
Replace an old oil boiler with low-carbon heating and explore Terra’s heat pump, two-panel solar and air-conditioning package.
How funding helps
The £7,500 BUS grant can rise to £9,000 for an eligible oil-heated property with no mains gas connection. The additional £1,500 is available until 31 March 2027, subject to the scheme’s requirements.
Terra brochure offer: £0 after an eligible £9,000 grant. Survey, grant approval and agreed installation scope are required. BUS funds the eligible heat pump; solar and AC are Terra package components, not separate £9,000 grants.

Generating electricity at home can reduce the amount you buy from the grid. Terra’s solar offer includes ten 470 W panels, a 4.7 kWp system, with supply and installation.
How funding helps
Solar panels can be an agreed improvement under the Warm Homes: Local Grant. Your council assesses the home, available funding and suitable measures. Approval is separate from a private Terra quotation.
Terra brochure price: £3,135. The solar-only price assumes no grant. A standalone solar installation does not receive the £7,500 BUS heat-pump grant. Do not subtract that amount from the solar package price.
£7,500 towards a qualifying air-to-water heat pump
Our Landlords package brings together a heat pump, two solar panels and air conditioning. It offers a route to more efficient heating, home-generated electricity and summer cooling.
How funding helps
BUS can reduce the eligible heating installation cost. Property owners, including qualifying private landlords, may apply through their installer. Installing another gas boiler or retaining one as a hybrid heating system is not the BUS-funded route.
Terra brochure package price: £1,499. Your quotation will confirm the grant deduction, customer contribution and included work. Solar panels and AC are Terra’s additional package offer. EPC improvements depend on the property and assessment; funding does not guarantee EPC C or a mortgage discount.
Terra’s advertised offer combines an air-to-water heat pump with air conditioning, without solar panels or a battery. It replaces the old boiler as part of the agreed heating upgrade.
How funding helps
The brochure’s £7,500 BUS grant applies to the eligible air-to-water heat pump. The AC is part of Terra’s commercial package. The £499 contribution depends on approval, survey and scope; it is not a standalone cooling-only grant.
A separate technology has separate rules. GOV.UK also lists £2,500 for qualifying residential air-to-air heat pumps. That category is different from the advertised Terra package, requires an eligible certified installation, and cannot be added as a second BUS grant for the same property.
Funding may be available through your council’s home-upgrade programme
Insulating suitable external walls helps reduce heat loss and improve comfort. A survey identifies the right system, wall condition and installation requirements.
How funding helps
The Warm Homes: Local Grant can include wall insulation where the council approves it following a home survey. Funding and any landlord contribution depend on the scheme and assessment.
Terra brochure price: from £90 per m². Location, access, area and installation difficulty affect the final quotation. Wall insulation alone does not qualify for a £7,500 BUS grant, and a council award is not an automatic discount on a private quote.
These are separate schemes. Do not assume two grants can be combined or used for the same costs. Scotland and Northern Ireland have different arrangements; ask about the options for your location.
YOUR NEXT STEP
Let’s check the possibilities for your home.
Tell Terra your postcode, current heating system and the package you are interested in. We can discuss a survey, the appropriate funding route and an itemised quotation. For council-funded work, apply through the official service and confirm its process before placing an order.
Funding guidance checked on 23 October 2026. Offers are based on Terra’s supplied pamphlets; availability, grant approval and final installation terms are confirmed in your quotation. Grant rules can change.
